Just after graduating the Conservatory of Amsterdam Anne Chris was asked to perform at the prestigious North Sea Jazz Festival. Immediately her career had a whirlwind start. Anne Chris released her first album ‘Tomorrow is Today’ in 2004. The album contained a mix of original songs (written by Anne Chris) and jazz-standards. She performed these songs in a lot of places, for example The Bimhuis and the famous Concertgebouw

Together with her band she toured in a lot of countries. Not just Europe (Italy, Germany, Belgium) but even in Africa (Morocco) and Asia (India and Thailand).
She had a very special cooperation with famous Dutch artist Youp van ‘t Hek in 2007. He and Anne Chris did a fantastic duet in his theater show.
The release of Anne Chris’ second album ‘Play for Now’ was in 2010. The cd had much airplay and was also released in Thailand, with great success. Because of the album she was named in the list of the most influential women in the Netherlands in that year (VIVA 400).
It runs in the family; Anne Chris’ father is a guitarist/composer. Together they recorded the children cd ‘Vogeltje Zing Maar’, with songs that Anne Chris’ father wrote for her when she was young.

Anne Chris wrote, recorded and produced the new cd with piano player Daan Herweg (Caro Emerald).Together with her fantastic new band (Daan Herweg-piano, Kasper Kalf-bass, Jasper van Hulten-drums) she recorded 10 original songs. It will be released in May. Musical influences are Gretchen Parlato, Esperanza Spalding, Jill Scott and Michael Jackson. She also recorded two 80′s cover songs: ‘Love is a Battlefield’ from Pat Benatar and ‘Stepping Out’ from Joe Jackson.
