Camilo was born in Santiago de Chile, where he studied at the University of Chile Conservatory of Music under Ernesto Quezada, graduating with top honors (summa cum laude). He later received his graduate degree (Meisterklassendiplom) after obtaining a scholarship to study under Roberto Aussel at the Hochschule für Musik Köln in Germany.

Sauvalle has performed in countries such as France, Belgium, Germany, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Austria, Venezuela, Colombia, and in the most important halls in Chile. Sauvalle also plays duo with his father, composer Sergio Sauvalle, an experience that has fostered his interest in the traditional Chilean and Latin American guitar. Currently, Camilo Sauvalle is Artistic Director ofGuitarras de America, one of the most important guitar festivals in South America.

Since 2013 he plays concerts for Live Music Now Köln.
