West Dean International Classical Guitar Festival

The International Classical Guitar Festival Summer School, Open Day, Masterclasses & Concerts 2015

This annual event, now in its 23rd year, offers superb learning and performance opportunities for both advanced players and those of an elementary standard. Repertoire, technique classes and a variety of topics form the core teaching programme. Playing opportunities abound in the guitar orchestra, ensembles and student concerts.In addition guitarists receive two individual lessons and attend public recitals and masterclasses, given by distinguished visiting artists and tutors including the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Cecilia Rodrigo, Antigoni Goni, Craig Ogden, Peter Nuttall, Stephen Gordon, Frank Lamm, Gary Ryan, Vincent Lindsey-Clark and the Primavera Chamber Ensemble (John Mills, Paul Manley and Andrew Fuller) with Cobie Smit. Bursaries are available for 16 to 24 year old students to help with fees. Please contact the Bookings Office for further details.

ANDREW GOUGH is Head of Guitar at Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Department. He has given recitals throughout the UK and is an orchestral guitarist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He is also Director of the International Guitar Festival and Summer School at West Dean
