SOUNDS OF MEXICO visits Instituto Cervantes, Utrecht for one evening to present a less exposed side of Mexican culture and its music. Music for classical guitar duo that includes works by renowned Mexican composers such as Mario Lavista, as well as the Dutch premieres of two pieces from a younger generation of Mexican composers – Tomás Barreiro Guijosa and Gutiérrez Bolio. As does Mexican culture itself, this program offers a rich range of styles that even though they originate from the same land, they will take the listener through a wide array of creative expressions.
