Fabian Freesen (wegens ziekte verplaatst, binnenkort meer)

In de reeks Concertopnames voor Guitar Canon treed vanavond de uit Duitsland afkomstige gitarist Fabian Freemen op. Hij zal als onderdeel van zijn concert Joaquin Turina’s Sonata Opus 61 opnemen. Een jonge zeer getalenteerde speler die vele prijzen reeds op zijn naam heeft staan.

Fabian Freesen was born in Mönchengladbach, Germany, in 1984. Starting at the age of 7, Fabian visited a local music school and followed lessons until the age of 18 with German teacher Joachim Küppers. During that time, he received a scholarship which included a concert tour in Lithuania with the Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Mönchengladbach, playing the Concerto de Aranjuez at the age of 17.  In 2004, he went to Maastricht to study with famous guitarist and teacher Carlo Marchione where he finished both his Bachelor and Master of Music with distinction. After his study, he started to teach in a music school in Recklinghausen where he is teaching still. Besides leading a guitar class, he is regularly performing in concerts and competitions which have already led him to Russia, Israel, India, China, South Korea, the USA and across Europe. Among the prizes he won are:
